Dhia Neru is a long reef alongside Mathiveri Island, offering dive conditions suitable for both beginners and advanced divers. During slack tide, the site provides calm waters and excellent visibility. Its reef structure is uniquely captivating—sand patches nestled between coral formations reflect sunlight, illuminating the reef in a striking way. MAAVARU MANTA BLOCK

Maavaru Manta Block, located 40 minutes from Bodufulhudhoo, is a famous manta cleaning station where divers and snorkelers encounter reef mantas, eagle rays, and occasional dolphins. The reef hosts angelfish, butterflyfish, and triggerfish. Best visited December to April, its 10–20m depths suit all levels with crystal-clear views.

This site is a well-known manta ray cleaning station where graceful manta rays glide in circles above coral bommies while small cleaner fish remove parasites from their bodies. Stretching alongside Mathiveri Island, this long reef is ideal for both beginner and experienced divers. Divers should also watch the blue for passing eagle rays and manta rays and with a bit of luck, even whale sharks have been spotted here here.

Blue Caves is a striking long pinnacle adorned with overhangs draped in vibrant soft corals. Hafsa Thila is a spectacular drift dive, starting at a top reef of 10 meters and dropping beyond 30 meters. The site is famous for its black coral bushes and rich marine life. Whitetip reef sharks rest beneath the overhangs, while grey reef sharks, batfish, dogtooth tuna, and fusiliers patrol the currents. Hidden among the reef are stonefish and scorpionfish, adding to the diversity. Divers drift around the pinnacle before finishing on the shallow top reef. In stronger currents, positioning at the front increases the chance of spotting larger pelagic species, making this site both thrilling and rewarding.

MAALHOS THILA

This well‑known dive site features a thila that begins at 10 meters and slopes down beyond 30 meters. Kuda Faru Thila consists of one large pinnacle and a smaller one. The smaller pinnacle is home to a massive school of blue‑striped snappers, while the larger pinnacle showcases table corals, diverse hard corals, and reef life ranging from octopus and nudibranchs to Spanish dancers, shrimps, fire gobies, and garden eels. Fish Head (Mushimasmingili Thila) in North Ari Atoll is one of the Maldives’ most iconic dive sites, famous for its resident grey reef sharks, dramatic underwater pinnacle, and rich coral life. It is best suited for intermediate to advanced divers, with depths ranging from 10–30 meters and strong currents that make for exhilarating drift dives.

HALAVELI SHIP WRECK

The Halaveli Wreck is a 40‑meter cargo ship intentionally sunk in 1991 to create an artificial reef. Resting between 21 and 28 meters, it offers a mid‑depth dive suitable for a wide range of divers. The site attracts both reef and pelagic species, with regular encounters including mackerel, groupers, sea turtles, moray eels, and stingrays. Diving is possible year‑round, though the best conditions are typically from December to May, making it a consistently rewarding site for underwater exploration.

Turtle Reef

This long reef in North Ari Atoll is renowned for its guaranteed sightings of hawksbill turtles. Its distinctive topography features two parallel reefs separated by a sandy patch that reflects sunlight, illuminating the vibrant underwater scenery. With colourful hard corals, table corals, and lively marine life such as reef sharks, surgeonfish, anemonefish, angelfish, butterflyfish, and damsels, the site offers both beauty and biodiversity.

The combination of shallow depth and curious turtles makes it a favourite not only for divers but also for snorkelers, who can enjoy the reef’s vivid colours and abundant marine encounters.

FESDHOO WRECK

The Fesdhoo Wreck in Alif Alif Atoll is a 50‑meter cargo ship deliberately sunk to create an artificial reef. Resting upright at 30 meters, with its deck at 18, the vessel remains in excellent condition. Rapid coral and sponge growth has transformed it into a thriving habitat, attracting snappers, groupers, and batfish. Certified wreck divers can penetrate the cargo holds, bridge, and engine room, while the intact superstructure outside provides striking silhouettes for wide‑angle photography. Draped in colourful soft corals, the wreck offers both a vibrant ecosystem and an unforgettable dive experience.
